MAN'S BEST FRIEND: CHARLIE

I GREW UP WITH LABRADORS ALL MY LIFE. WE DUCK HUNTED OVER THEM, THEY LIVED OUTDOORS AND WERE WORKING DOGS. I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD EVER HAVE ANY OTHER DOG THAN A LAB. UNTIL, I OWNED A TERRIER. A JACK RUSSELL NAMED WALTER TO BE EXACT. I LOVED ALL THIS BIG DOG MENTALITY IN A COMPACT PACKAGE. SO, WHEN THE JACK DIED A COUPLE YEARS AGO I LOOKED FOR A REPLACEMENT. (THOUGH HE WILL NEVER BE TRULY REPLACED). ENTER THE PATTERDALE TERRIER (SOMETIMES CALLED FELL TERRIERS). BASICALLY, THE BLACK JACK, WITHOUT THE NEEDY, NUTTY, EMOTIONAL NEUROSIS. LAB IN LOOKS, STURDY, (CHARLIE IS 25 LBS) EASY TO TRAIN, LOYAL AND ALL TERRIER.
