DELICIOUS BOOKSHOP

IN PORTLAND, ABOVE THE WATER FRONT ON MIDDLE ST., FLANKED BY GREAT LOCAL FOOD IS RABELAIS. IT IS THE MOST AMAZING FOOD RELATED BOOK SHOP I HAVE EVER BEEN IN. (SORRY COOKS AND LETTERS). IT IS A BRIGHT SHOP WITH THE MOST FANTASTIC EDIT OF VINTAGE, RARE, OUT OF PRINT AND NEW BOOKS ON FOOD AND DRINK. A MUST SEE.

I was in just in Maine this weekend for their annual Clamfest and had an amazing time. Went to J's and also went to Days on US route 1 in Yarmouth. I highly suggest checking that place out.

Fantastic - such a wonderful place! Where else could you find a bookshop that able to steer you to the British edition, among the multiple editions of Alice B. Toklas cookbook, that did NOT expurgate the "canibus sativa" version.
