CAN AM
CAN AM RACING STARTED IN THE 1960'S AND FOUND ITS DEMISE WITH THE 70'S GAS CRISIS. IT WAS LOUD, FAST, GUTTURAL RACING AT ITS BEST. CAN AM CARS WERE VIRTUALLY UNRESTRICTED IN AERODYNAMICS, THE RACING HAD MINIMAL REGULATIONS AND UNLIMITED ENGINE SIZES. MARIO ANDRETTI, PAUL NEWMAN, BRUCE MCLAREN AND JACKIE STEWART ALL RACED CAN AM AT SOME POINTS IN THEIR CAREERS.

I saw all these cars race at the California track, Riverside Int. Raceway. Most of the Formula one
drivers of the time also drove in the Can Am series.
Stewart, Surtees, David Hobbs, Dan Gurney, Andretti, and Bruce McLaren were just some of the top notch drivers competing in Can Am
At one point the Chaparrals of Jim Hall dominated, but the McLaren orange eventually became the dominant car. Just an amazing time in motorsports.......kobi
Oh man this brings back memories. Thanks!
