BOOT FIND

THESE WERE FOUND IN AN UNEXPECTED THRIFT AND I COULD NOT LEAVE THEM BEHIND. THE PERIOD, PATINA AND SHAPE ARE PERFECT. THEY ARE DEFINITELY AMERICAN MADE BUT THERE IS REALLY NO SIGN OF BRAND EXCEPT ON THE INSOLE. REGARDLESS, I AM VERY HAPPY TO HAVE THEM.

MY SHOE MAKER DATES THIS VIBRAM SOLE
TO BE ABOUT 40 OR 50 YEARS OLD
ONLY SIGN OF BRAND:
PEN-TAN

Good thing they're sanitized.
Those'll look sick with some mink oil in 'em.

Hey Matthew
Brooke here in Vancouver. Nice find. I was out this morning on Commercial Drive in my favorite thrift store and found a vintage pair of steel toe low cut RedWing work Boots. Beautiful dark brown leather, like wearing slippers. I came home checked my favorite blogs and see you made a similar score. Thrift shops are the way to go. Nice photos in the latest GQ. Take care.

Dip them in some neatsfoot oil, if you intend to wear them. They look in dire need of some TLC

Great find!
