PASANELLA AND SONS

MY FRIEND MARCO'S WINE SHOP (PASANELLA AND SON), DOWN NEAR THE OLD FULTON FISH MARKET IS WORTH A VISIT. FIRST, THE SPACE IS AMAZING. THE BUILDING WAS ORIGINALLY A MAST FACTORY FOR SHIPS A COUPLE HUNDRED YEARS AGO, THEN PART OF THE MARKET UNTIL ITS RELOCATION AND THE BUILDING WENT UP FOR SALE. THE SHOP IS WELL EDITED FOR EVERY TASTE AND BUDGET AND THE STAFF IS KNOWLEDGABLE, HELPFUL AND HONESTLY, REALLY NICE.

My friends live next door and had their engagement party there. Great spot! The building that my friends live in also has a history of ship making; there are 150 year old brass numbers on the floor marking the feet needed for each sail to be cut. Cool history down there!

Stopped in this weekend. On their recommendation I picked up a lovely vermouth and have been enjoying Rob Roys ever since.
